Perform with Telltales at Port Eliot
June 16th, 2014 | Published in Frontpage
The most eclectic, eccentric, stimulating summer garden party is back and Telltales is invited.
It’s all happening in July! In addition to our spot at the Penzance LitFest on 19th July and being at our home base, Dolly’s Bar in Falmouth, on 29th July (see the posts below for more details of these events, including theme and submissions deadline) we’ve been asked to perform at Port Eliot Festival again, and this year we’re going to be Freshly Squeezed.
One long weekend. Six writers. Six original pieces of work. Across the Festival our writers will be seeking out inspiration, insight and even intrigue to get their creative juices flowing, before writing a piece to read out as part of the Telltales set.
Four of our writers have already been chosen, but we’ve still got two places on the programme up for grabs. You’ll need to be able to write on your feet, think fast and be at Port Eliot Festival for the whole weekend – from 24-27 July 2014. In return you’ll get a performer’s pass to the Festival and a chance to share your work at one of the best literary events on the festival calendar.
To be in with a shot of one of the spots, you’ll have to prove your on-the-hoof wordsmithery skills.
We want you to tell us about what makes Port Eliot Festival different.
If you’ve been before you could base it on a real-life experience, if you haven’t you could day dream. It could be a tale of festival fancy, a storyscape set in the grounds, or a poem about the people you might meet. Whatever you write you’ve got to be creative. And quick. Submissions close on the 30 June and the lucky winners will be announced by the 4 July. To enter, upload your work on this website as usual (see right), clearly labelling your document with your name and Port Eliot Freshly Squeezed.
We look forward to reading your work. Good luck!
