New Beginnings
December 4th, 2016 | Published in Frontpage
Telltales will be back in the New Year on Tuesday 31 January at Dolly’s in Falmouth.
We will be on the lookout for work on the theme of New Beginnings. It can be anything you want it to be: a sci-fi adventure on a virgin planet, a barren field in the springtime, the opportunity to try something just one more time…
We absolutely welcome all styles of writing.
Congratulations to all the writers who shared their work on 29 November at Dolly’s while the audience held their breath. Aaron Kent was the host for the evening and treated us to his expertly devised poetry film: St Day Road. There was an excellent mix of writing, which included poetry from Ian Stevens and Francesca Danu, travel writing from Heather Hosking and a novel extract from Felicity Notley. Anderson Knight crossed time-boundaries, subtly altering the register of his prose to suggest a haunting. In Dom Power’s novella, the juice of blackberries took on a sinister aspect.
