A Host of Ghosts
October 23rd, 2016 | Published in Frontpage
We’ll be meeting again on Tuesday 29 November for our next Telltales on our autumnal theme of GHOSTS. Join in with the long tradition of spooky tales told in November while the wind howls outside and rain rattles the windows. What are those things that go bump in the night, exactly? Think half seen figures in the moonlight, creaking stairs and the memories of those loved and lost.
Tell us about the worst things that stand around the end of the bed at 5 am, getting worse and worse and worse, as the poet Fleur Adcock put it. Take inspiration from Edna St Vincent Millay’s …’the rain/ is full of ghosts tonight…’and tell us what haunts you.
The venue is Dolly’s Wine Bar, Church St, Falmouth (above the Falmouth Bookseller). Come at 7 for a 7.30pm start. Free event.
We welcome all types of writing – poetry, fiction, non-fiction, playscripts etc… We only ask that you send us your carefully chosen words. Our aim is to showcase, motivate and inspire, and we love to hear from new writers. Our word limit is 1,600 words. Please submit via the website form to the right. Any queries or problems, email info@telltales.org.uk. Submissions close on Sunday 20 November. Please say if you are a writer new to Telltales. We look forward to hearing from you…
